How Did you get Started in Fishing?
Going Crappie fishing with my grandfather when I was a young boy. I still fish tournaments out of his ‘76 Procraft to this day.
How Long Have you been Fishing?
28 Years
How Often Do you Fish?
3 times/week
What are your Ideal fishing conditions?
As nasty as possible. Blue bird skies and I don’t get along well.
Who do you fish with?
Typically fish with my best friend, Brandon. Although I do encourage my wife to fish with me as much as she can stand it.
Where do you fish and how long have you been fishing?
My home lake is West Point in LaGrange GA. I’ve been fishing this lake my entire life and I truly cherish some of the memories when I pull into an all but forgotten cove.
How many months out of the year do you fish for?
12! Here in Georgia, we are blessed with waters fishable year-round and I take full advantage of it.
How many times a week do you typically get out to fish?
I try my best to fish every once or twice a week but luckily I’ve found myself fishing 2-3 days now. I credit this extra time to finally gaining access to a lake stocked with F1’s that I’m able to launch my boat in located 20 minutes from home. Sure beats an hour to my home lake.
What time do you go out fishing in the morning and what time do you get back?
I usually put in at safe light and return to the ramp about 1-2pm.
How do you target a new area?
I’m a junk fisherman through and through. Electronics are absolutely necessary, however, I’ve found I catch more fish when I take a moment to turn off the sonar and follow my intuition. If I’m scouting a new location, my first plan is to find areas with “resting places” for bass as they follow their seasonal migration pattern. When I find specific landmarks, I graph them to see the whole picture. That’s been the most effective method for me so far.
What’s your go to fishing setup?
Easy choice. My favorite set up currently is Sixgill’s Crius reel, started w/ 14lb mono and finished with about 150yds of 12lb test flourocarbon on a medium/fast Allstar rod.
Do you have any additional sponsorships/pro staff/feild staff/ambasador/etc?
Proudly representing as pro staff for Woo! Tungsten and Sixgill Fishing.
What is your favorite Style of Fishing?
Finesse all the way! As light as possible makes a great day even when tossing back dinks!
What is your favorite time of the year to fish?
Spawn for sure. I truly love sight fishing. Second favorite is the first cooler period of fall during the shad spawn.
What is your favorite Body of water to fish?
Harris Chain of Lakes in Florida seconded by any body of water containing smallmouth.
Whats your favorite species to target? Why?
While being raised a proper southern gentleman, there is something about a smallmouth bass. They pull like a demented spot on steroids and their acrobatics will put a Florida largemouth to shame.
What Species do you target?
Mainly largemouth. Gunning for weight.
What is the biggest fish you’ve ever caught? (Or your PB of your favorite species):
Definitely has to be the drum that started pulling my boat all over during a battle on the Tennessee River that I’ll never forget.
Do you own and operate your own boat/kayak/canoe?
If so for how long?
Currently restoring my grandfathers 1976 vintage Procraft 1640 bass boat I currently fish tournaments out of. Right at 28 years!
How far from shore do you fish (If fishing offshore)?
As far as I need!
Have you won any tournaments (local, Club, State, National, Online, etc)? Not yet but placed highly in some.
Do you fish with any clubs/teams/tournaments?

Bass Master Opens Co-Angler 2019
Do you have any fishing horror stories (Hook in the eye, boat motor dies 2 miles offshore, had to be rescued on a fishing adventure)?
Thankfully no!
Do you have any funny fishing Stories?
My wife thinks it’s pretty funny when she out fishes me.
