How Did you get Started in Fishing?
My father introduced me to fishing as soon as I was old enough to cast a pole. Growing up in South Louisiana, fishing was a way of life.
I am from a family of commercial fishermen.

At least once a week. On average 5- 6 times per month.

Barometric pressure dropping, cloudy or partly cloudy. Light winds. If Iʼm in saltwater, inshore on an incoming or outgoing tide.
Who do you fish with?
Usually solo from my pirogue or with my boater if Iʼm co-angling in my fishing club or in the BFLʼs
Where do you fish and how long have you been fishing?
I’ve been fishing for most of my life. Most of my fishing is done in Alabama. Bass and crappie and cats…Lake Martin, Lake Jordan, Lake Eufaula, The Coosa River Tallapossa River and Alabama Rivers. When Iʼm chasing saltwater fish Iʼm in Venice or Buras Louisiana. Chasing Reds and Specks inshore, And snapper and grouper offshore.
How many months out of the year do you fish for?
Ten
How many times a week do you typically get out to fish?
1 or 2
What time do you go out fishing in the morning and what time do you get back?
I am on the water before day break. In the spring and fall I will stay on the water all day, but in the hot summers here in Alabama its an early morning and lateaevening deal for me.
How do you target a new area?
I look for aggressive fish first with reaction style and fast moving baits. I target high probability areas first such as humps, ledges , current breaks, and channel swings.
What’s your go to fishing setup?
My go to setup is a 7ʼ0 M/H Abu Garcia Veritas, with a Abu Pro Max reel. I use 40lb braid backing, to a 10-17 flouro leader depending on the conditions.
Do you have any additional sponsorship’s/pro staff/field staff/ambassador/etc?
NO
What is your favorite Style of Fishing?
Rivers, Main River Channels and Ledges. I like to find fish schooled up on a ledge or stacked up in a current break.
What is your favorite time of the year to fish?
Late summer to Fall
What is your favorite Body of water to fish?
The Coosa river below Jordan Dam

My P.B is 4.5lb spotted bass.
17lb Red Snapper
Do you own and operate your own boat/kayak/canoe? If so for how long?
I’ve had a pirogue for a few years that I hand build. The pirogue is a paddle craft. IT has the size and stability of a canoe, with the maneuverability and shallow draft of a kayak
What kind of boat/kayak/canoe do you fish on? Describe it briefly.
My Pirogue follows the traditional cajun design. Flat bottom, wide beam, and clean lines.
How far from shore do you fish (If fishing offshore)?
On the Lakes Iʼve fished hundreds lf yards from the shore. In the gulf we fish 10-12 miles offshore on the oil rigs.
Have you won any tournaments (local, Club, State, National, Online, etc)?
My best finish is 18 in a BFL and second as a co anger in a club tournament
Do you fish with any clubs/teams/tournaments?
I fish the FLW-BFL/Bama Division, and am a Member of Red Bird Bass Club
Do you have any fishing horror stories (Hook in the eye, boat motor dies 2 miles offshore, had to be rescued on a fishing adventure)?
Catching a 40inch Gar from a pirogue is pretty horrible. I had to paddle to the shore with the fish hooked to safely release it.
Do you have any funny fishing Stories?
Yea one day I was sitting on anchor fishing , and this guy paddles down past me in a nice fishing kayak with the whole setup. Fishfinders, rod holders, YETI, you name it. The guy even had a great fishing vest and hat on. 30 Minutes later I see someone floating past in the current. NO LIFEJACKET! I pull the anchor and paddle to him as fast as I can. He grabs hold of my boat, and a few seconds later his kayak floats by upside down. I ask him what the heck happened. He says he set the hook on a fish.
